I had SOOO many problems with this layout you would not believe! I originally hand stamped this title (I had only slept four hours that night) and when I got the NG of NURSING, I stamped the N OVER the I. Looked great and in line except then it was missing an I. OMG. And then my white gel pen was such a pain I was focusing so much on GETTING it to write I didn't realize I said nursing school four times in that short little journal entry. Embarrassing! But enjoy!

12/1/10 challenges done today
This one I did for round 2 of the big sketch challenge @ My Creative Scrapbook. It took a lot longer than it looks! I used tacky tape for the buttons but then some showed through so I couldn't go with the whimsical look I originally planned so poured seed beads on it so the shiny part didn't show (and wasn't sticky). Hand stitched title and buttons.
This one I did today for this week's Sketchy Thursday. I had much better plans for this but it just didn't work out. I hand cut those dang triangles after I couldn't find a punch anywhere. Now, thrown together to make the deadline. Next week I'll do better!

This week's challenges so far
This one is for Julie Bonner's (THE go to gal for awesome sketches- creator of the much missed 52sketches52weeks.com site) sketch challenge @ My Creative Scrapbook. I REALLY enjoyed this challenge! It was hard though!! It took FOREVER to get the blocking right- all paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Snorkel line.
This second set is for Sketchy Thursdays. It's my first time doing a challenge for them and I'm so happy I found their site! I really like the sketches and love that they have spaces for multiple photos and are truly unique. Do you notice any similarities between the two sketches? YUP- blocking! By the second try, I had gotten better. This was also my first try at decoupage, but I knew it had to be done because I had this article of the newspaper they had written after interviewing me about Katrina that I had saved and it needed to be scrapped. I so rarely scrap the other stuff (tickets, napkins.. I know this stuff has a name but I can't remember it right now!) I promise I don't normally sound like this but seems I always post after I've pulled an all nighter. Maybe that's because the only time I get to scrap is when the rest of the world sleeps! Enjoy, any questions- just ask!

Pencil Lines: Sketch 213 Challenge
Okay so I'm not liking this one any better but here it is. Maybe I should just stop doing the challenges. Again this one is another seemingly monochromatic and I feel like the colors should be more distinguishable (though I must say I've seen many that other people do that look fantastic!). Materials used are Basic Grey Color Me Silly line, Stickles, googly eyes, Martha Stewart cupcake punch, seed beads, and Thickers: skating rink. Any questions- just ask!

Pencil Lines: Sketch 212 Challenge
This was my first submission for this challenge. I've been following along for over a year now but have never submitted my work. To be honest, I'm not happy with this layout. Generally, I see a sketch and know exactly what I want to do with it. This one, I think I pulled out half of my supplies and it was total chaos. Maybe it has something to do with being almost four in the morning. Or maybe it's that I found out my mom is sick and realized this is the first picture of just us together that I've ever seen.
If you have any questions about supplies I used, please don't hesitate to ask as I'm always curious about other ladies' products I see that I like their use of. Lastly, sorry about the poor photo quality. I would take them outside in natural light but of course it's dark out right now! Let me know what you think!
